Our Church
About Us
From our early Congregational roots in the eastern United States to our Midwest community, our growing church began in a small private home by several early Allegan community families. Over 150 years later it is still growing. We welcome you to come and worship with us. You don't need an invitation as our doors are open to everyone.
F.C.C. COVENANT:
We so now, in humble dependence upon the Divine Spirit, whose help is promised to all who seek it, consecrate ourselves to the worship of God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; sincerely giving ourselves up to him and to be His forever. And we sincerely, desire and promise, God assisting us, to obey the commands and walk in the ordinance of the gospel; to uphold in all ways the First Congregational Christian Church and so far as possible, to love and watch over its members as fellow pilgrims; to attend its worship, to abide by its discipleship and to promote its purity, peace and prosperity.

F.C.C. STATEMENT OF FAITH:
- We believe in one eternal God who exists in three co-equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit who is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent, the creator of the heavens above and the earth below, the maker of our bodies and father of our spirits (Gen 2-3; Ex 20:2-3; Ps 139:7-10; Pr 15:3; 1 Cor 8:6; Heb 1:3; 1 Jn 3:20, 5:7; Rev 1:8, 4:11).
- We believe that the Bible is the authoritative word of God, inspired, infallible, and inerrant as our ultimate source of authority; that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, reveal to us the will of God, and are the only sufficient rule of faith and Christian practice (Jn 17:17; 2 Tm 3:16-17; Titus 1:2; 1 Pt 1:23; 2 Pt 1:19-21).
- We believe that faith and belief in Jesus Christ and repentance of sin are the only conditions of salvation and that all who comply with these conditions will be accepted by God and enter eternal life. We believe that a life lived in accordance with this profession of the heart will follow, as God promises to sanctify His holy people (Acts 20:21; Acts 2:27-38; Lk 18:13; Rm 10:9-10; 13).
- We believe in the resurrection of the dead, and that everyone shall stand before the Judgement Seat of God, and receive for the deeds done in the body, whether they be good or evil (1 Thess 4:13-18; 2 Cor 5:10-11).
- We believe in the union of Christians into a visible church organization, and we esteem it an important thing that the disciples of Christ should make a public profession of faith in the Lord and should give expression of a purpose to live a life according to His teaching, so that all may know that they are His friends and followers (Acts 2:41-42; 1 Cor 11:2; Rm 10:9-10; 1 Pt 5:1-4).
In this faith we are banded together as a company of Christian workers, having in view our own spiritual growth, and the salvation of other people (Heb 5:12-6:2; Mt 28:18-20).
